Bespoke frames

Knowledge meets skills

The quality, finish and authentic look of our handmade frames are the result of traditional techniques. This requires knowledge of time-honoured methods and the skill to apply them. We never compromise; only the best will do.

Inspired by the Old Masters

We love crafting frames like the Old Masters painted: purely by hand and using time-honoured techniques. But we also embrace the challenge to frame something modern. Our passion for craftsmanship and the drive to make each frame unique is reflected in every detail of our work. It goes without saying that the artwork being framed always dictates the frame’s design and materials. Art lovers increasingly choose a Krützmann frame for their walls.

Modern frames

For modern frames, we craft sleek designs using premium woods like maple, walnut and oak. Finishes range from oiling and varnishing to colouring and gilding, all chosen to complement the artwork.

All our frames come with a high-quality hanging system, ready to display immediately.

Hand-coloured frames

In our studio, we also colour white wooden frames in the traditional manner. We mix pigments and binding agents in an authentic manner, building up layers from base to final shade. This is how we create the perfect colour for the frame of the artwork.

Gilded frames

Gilding is a true craft, requiring years of practice and experience. In our studio, we are highly skilled in this beautiful technique. We apply ultra-thin sheets of real gold to frames with extraordinary care, precision and passion. Gilding can be done in various gold tones or other materials. It is a real enhancement of the artwork.
